About Kirsten

Motherhood changed everything.

Not just in the obvious ways – the sleepless nights, the chaos, the fierce love – but in the deep, identity-shifting, world-tilting ways I never saw coming. Becoming a mother cracked me open. It showed me who I really was, what I needed to let go of, and what kind of support I was missing.

When my son was diagnosed as autistic and non-speaking, I found myself navigating a system that didn’t understand the complexity of what we were facing – not just the logistics and therapies, but the grief, the guilt, the burnout, the loneliness. I wasn’t just looking for parenting advice. I was looking for someone who could see me.

That’s what led me to matrescence – the psychological, emotional, and spiritual transformation of becoming a mother. Learning about it was like finding a language for everything I had been feeling but didn’t have words for.

I joined Mama Rising and became a certified matrescence coach because I believe no mother should walk this path alone. Especially not the ones who feel like the path they’re on doesn’t look like anyone else’s.

What makes this space different

There are many coaches supporting mothers through matrescence — but Finding Motherhood was created for those of us walking a path that diverged wildly from what we imagined.

I work at the intersection of motherhood, neurodivergence, identity, and grief.
This means I’m not just here to talk about self-care or mindset.
I’m here for the mothers navigating diagnosis, emotional overload, broken systems, and invisible labour.
The ones doing everything “right” and still feeling like they’re drowning.

This isn’t about fixing you — it’s about witnessing you, and helping you reclaim your sense of self in a world that often forgets mothers like us exist.

About Fi(ND)ing Motherhood

Fi(ND)ing Motherhood is more than a service. It’s a sanctuary for mums of neurodivergent and disabled children who feel lost in the noise of shoulds, systems, and silent struggles.

Here, you won’t be told to “just be grateful.” You won’t be handed toxic positivity or asked to sacrifice your well-being for your child’s success. Instead, you’ll find space to unpack what’s heavy, reconnect with who you are, and move forward with more clarity, confidence, and calm.

I blend evidence-based support with lived experience, offering one-to-one coaching, group spaces, and a podcast that speaks to the real challenges of motherhood – especially when your child’s needs are more complex.

At the heart of it all is this belief: you’re allowed to take up space in your own story.

"Motherhood is not a role we step into; it's a metamorphosis we move through." — Barbara Katz Rothman

If you're ready to explore what that might mean for you, I’d love to talk.
